Pressing the Panic Button in Toronto

2 games in a row the Toronto Maple Leafs have been blown out, 6-2 to Buffalo and last night 9-2 to Nashville, and Maple Leafs fans have pushed the panic button.  They want the coaches head, the GM's head, players heads, basically anyone who is with the organization, they what their heads.
This is silly.  It was two games.  Yes I know that you are 1 game above .500 and have a record of 9-8-2, but simmer down a bit Leafs fans.  I know you lost to Buffalo in a bad way and followed it up with a total collapse to Nashville, but it is only two games.  Your team needs to take a step back, reset and have a leader emerge in the dressing room to show the way for this team.
You can't tell me that Dion Phaneauf is your leader and he will lead the way, because we all know that he isn't that guy.  And you can't say, ok well then Kessel is the guy.  No.  Neither is Kadri, JVR, Lupul, or Franson.  If you go down the list of players on the roster for the Leafs there is no one who can truly step up and take the lead in their dressing room.
The Toronto Maple Leafs need a vet with some experience and a voice that other players will follow and listen to.  Someone who can bridge the gaps between players and coaches, or even just between players.  A player who remains positive in all situations and leads by example and plays 100% all the time regardless of the score.
Where they are going to find that player is beyond me.  And if they are going to try and lure a player like that to Toronto I have no idea who they would even target.
They just need a change in the leadership of this team that isn't the GM or the coach.

Then there is the lack of defense which is a whole other topic I may cover.  Defensively this team is not up to par.  You could have the best goalies in the league, but if you don't give them help from the blue line back, they are going to look terrible and you're going to lose.

This may just be a bad stretch that every team has through in a year and things may turn around and the Leafs may go 10-0 in their next 10 games. Then watch the turn around in the fans.  The parade planning will start and this whole week will be forgotten.

Just don't press the panic button just yet Leafs fans.  Yes this team needs changes but not the ones the people are calling for. It has to come at the player level. And in varying forms.
