Following his highlight reel goal in New York last night, www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyRGH7HDs7s
Vladimir Tarasenko has continued adding to his ever growing list of tricks and moves that continues to awe everyone. This player is amazing. Sometimes a streaky player who may take a little time to get back on track, but a player who when he is on track, takes a long time to fall off.
He has played 11 games so far this season and has gathered 7 goals and 6 assists already. Averaging at over a point a game the St. Louis Blues have a true superstar in the making.
After being drafted at 16th overall in the 2012 NHL draft, Tarasenko was labelled as a great scorer and a stud pick by the Blues. If he pans out.
Well fast forward to 2014 and have a glance at the scoring touch he has had so far. Posting multiple point games against Dallas, Colorado and New York Rangers is not a bad way to go. And that was just in one week of play.
If he can keep this pace going, he is on his way to setting career highs in multiple areas. Goals, assists, shots on goal, PPG, and more.
Last season he set his career highs of 64 games played with 21 goals and 22 assists. Posting a +20 to finish off the season.
With nothing holding him back expect him to smash his previous totals and see loads of ice time. He will see lots of time on the PP and even strength and play some "soft" minutes which will help him out as well. And it seems what ever situation he is put into, he does well.
So it appears that right now, the St. Louis Blues so far have got the "stud" they were hoping for from the 2012 draft. And I believe you can expect his reign to last quite a while with the Blues.
Remember to get out and support your local minor league teams and players. Maybe the next Tarasenko is in your rink.
