A dark day in Ottawa.

This morning events in Ottawa took the life of a soldier who stood guard at the Canadian war memorial.  He was senselessly killed by someone who doesn't deserve the coverage that media gives him.  I don't care who he was, what he became or what he thought he stood for.  He doesn't deserve that recognition.
I know this isn't a hockey post and the only affect that this had directly to the NHL was that there was a game cancelled. That and the Pittsburgh Penguins played the Canadian national anthem as a show of respect and solidarity which was incredibly great to see.
This is just a rant at a senseless act that took a life of someone who didn't deserve to have his life cut short.
I hope all those affected by events today know that true Canadians and many others around the world respect and support the military and stand beside them in this dark time.

So next time you see a member of our military, shake their hand and thank them. They deserve it.
If you don't think so, then maybe you should stand in front of them and take the bullet they signed up to save you from.
